H120 MP3 File Playback

It seems the audio quality of my mp3 playback is very poor. The mp3 files sound fine on my computer, however when played back on the iriver H120, they sound verrry compressed, poorly EQued, (EQ is off) and different. I will try to post samples.

Any help is greatly appreciated
