What do you mean by "shadow font"?

for example: in the root menu the is the note sign an then the word "Rockbox" in the first line. this word has an glowing outline - like a shadow. all other lines looks like the fonts in the font folder.

unfortunately i don't have a digicam to make a photo.

You mean the main menu? We have no "root menu" ;)

You can enable "screendump" from the debug menu, and if enabled a USB connection will create a screen dump instead of going into usb mode.

- how does it look when you use a different font? This might be the issue with the "System" title not using the default font in some cases.
- I assume you are running an official build, right?
- does this also happen when using a different theme?

My guess is because you are using patch:

I must admit I quite like the different style of the "heading", but readability very much depends on the colour scheme.

@ roolku

you are right roolku. i use the build from mad cow - he included the dict patch

btw. how did you find out which patch was used?

@bluebrother

no official build -> mad cow build - i like it because it has album art and bmp resize
it happens at all themes, even the rockbox default

thanks for sharing your knowledge

... no official build ...

How does it look with an official build (since that's the only one "supported"...)?

Like I hinted in my previous post. The shadow style is part of the all in one dict patch, so you have to talk to x1jump to disable/remove it.

please, when asking about a specific behaviour, make sure to use an official build. A simple question can cause quite some confusion, and if this was present in an official build it would be a bug. Devs usually don't keep track of the various patches around. (If you have problems with a specific build you should direct all questions to the appropriate thread of that build)

We only support the official build for a reason. Thanks.
