Shuffle not working - Gigabeat

Hello! My first post so please forgive my n00bness. I've only been using Rockbox for a couple of days and I was wondering if I could get a little help?

The problem I'm having is that it no longer shuffles randomly through songs it just plays them in order. As I haven't used it very much yet I can't really remember if its only just started doing it of if its been doing it all along.

Any thoughts?

Are you absolutely sure you have the shuffle option enabled (be aware it's different from Repeat: Shuffle)?

Absolutely certain. I've gone through different cominations of just shuffle, shuffle and repeat and various other things but nothing seems to be able to take notice.

Have you read the section in the manual describing how shuffle works? It's somewhat different to other players, and might be confusing first.

Ahhhh I see. Well I don't know what I've done differently now but I reloaded the playlist and its shuffled everything quite nicely so I'm even more confused because I did the same thing earlier and it just loaded everything in order.

You can go the the playlist menu and select re-shuffle playlist, that should shuffle a playlist no matter what.
