Gigabeat - Theme reset after reboot and remote issues

Hello!

I've been using Rockbox for a couple of days now and so far I'm very impressed but I have had a couple of problems.

Last night I was listening to my Gigabeat before I went to sleep. I turned it off and fell asleep. When I woke up I turned it on again and the theme had reset back to default. I checked to see if I'd lost all my settings but they were fine. Every other time I've turned it on and off so far its been fine. Was it something I did or is it just one of those things I need to live with for the time being?

I tried using the remote but it doesn't really seem to work very well. Volume controls work just fine and skip seems okay but the on/play/pause thing doesn't really seem to be registering. It does work but not all the time. Sometimes it'll boot into a menu rather than resume playback like I told it to and if I press pause it doesn't generally seem to notice. It works sometimes but it seems to be a little bit like pot luck at the moment. Is it just that I'm used to using it with the original firmware and I need to learn how the new one works or is it more complicated than that?

Not sure about the theme reset.  At first I thought, maybe, you slid the hold over while booting by accident and all your settings were reset.  But you said that all of your other settigns were fine.  (Unless of course all you other settings are set to default values.)  So again, not sure about that one.

The remote play button is like the center of the cross.  It's multifunctional so serves as select as well as play/pause.  If you are in a menu to begin with, pressing play will select whatever is highlighted.  Now, I'll admit, I'm speaking strictly off the top because my remote is down stairs in the car.  So maybe someone else can chime in with something more technical.

Okay, I think I've solved my remote issues. Seems that for the time being at least I will have to learn to be more patient and it usually works.

I have had some more resets when booting up though. Sometimes like last time it just goes back to the default theme but others it resets all settings. Not really sure what I'm doing wrong. Swear I'm only pressing the on button or play on the remote depending on what I'm trying to use to turn it on with.
