Bookmarks on Sansa e200 not working for some

Some Rockbox users are having problems with bookmarking on the e200.  Bookmarks work for some but not for others.  I'm one where bookmarks will not work.  There's been a thread going on in another forum for a few days and the suggestion was to post here for suggestions.

In my case, I've tried many different settings related to bookmarks.  I've tried bookmark on stop "yes" and "ask".  I've tried load last bookmark "yes" and "ask".

During playback I press the submenu button, scroll to bookmark and press select on create a bookmark but nothing happens.  There is never a list of current bookmarks shown in the menu.  I've gone as far as browsing the file system looking for the .bmark file but can't find one on the player.

I'm using a recent build (downloaded March 23) but not the most recent build.  The problem has carried over with all builds I've tried.  My player is an e260 but I don't know which rev.  It's one of the earlier players based on the look of the scroll wheel.

Am I doing something wrong or does this sound like a bug?

Well, one possible explanation is that bookmarking doesn't currently work when playing files via the database viewer (I haven't followed the discussion, so I don't know if that has been mentioned already). If this is the case for yuo, try creating (and save!) a playlist and play that. If a bookmark is successfully created, a "Bookmark created" message will be shown.

That's exactly what it is.  I was playing the file via the database viewer, not via a playlist.  Thanks!
