::: Rockbox re-boot help needed
« on: March 28, 2007, 01:31:17 AM »
I like everything about the firmware so far except for the fact that when I disconnect (properly) my Nano 1g, then reconnect it, my computer won't recognize it as a hard drive or mp3 player.
If I reboot the player (while connected to USB) a windows Autoplay window comes up asking:
"Windows can perform the same action each time you'd like to connect the device, what would you like windows to do" .  The thing is there are no options listed (window is blank) within the window only the above dialiogue.

The only way I can get it recognized is if I reboot the computer, which is a hassle. Is there a disk mode or a trick I can use to get the player recognized without rebooting?? thanks!

well now it seems to be recognized if I reboot player while it's connected to USB. Anyone know if this will damage the Nano?

To use the disk mode you pess menu+play when your iPod is rebooting.  I don't think it will hurt your iPod but I'm not sure.

It's emergency disk mode which is the disk mode but it won't quit -- you need to reboot your ipod using Menu + Select to exit it.
