And the CPU does have an idea about it, because it has to enable and set it.
Of course, I was just saying that the CPU doesn't have any real involvement in the EQ's output.
The hardware EQ shouldn't use as much power as the software EQ though, and even if it does, it won't slow rockbox down like the software one would.
