Connecting w/ linux
« on: March 26, 2007, 10:00:41 PM »
I'm running Ubuntu (Edgy) and whenever I connect my Ipod 5.5 Video (30g), it boots into the emergency sync, says do not disconnect for a brief second, then says OK to disconnect.  EXPLAIN! :P

Put the ipod in disk mode before connecting.

Shut down your computer, unplug your iPod, boot up your computer, manually put the iPod into disk mode, and then once it's in disk mode, plug it in. Does it work?

Well since it's obviously a problem with the computer and not the ipod, I posted on the ubuntu forums.  However, if anyone has any advice or knowledge about this issue, PLEASE help!  ;)

Heh, tried that.  (You mean the apple os on the IPOD of course yes, as I have a pc)  Fortunately, it works fine in windows, so I just boot up in it and can sync, this really isnt a huge issue, it'd just be a LOT more convenient if it would work, though :P
