Try playing the second one first, and the first one second. Does it work?

I was so ready to reply without testing it that it did not work, but it did.  I played the second one and am currently playing the first one and it worked fine.  After this one plays through, I'll try another.

Does this result imply that there is something wrong with the first one?

Well, as you've got a 4th gen iPod, there are some general processor quirks (the ones that cause crashes with frequency scaling) so it's possible that it's the processor at fault rather than mpegplayer in this case, though I can't say with anything resembling certainty.

So I let my ipod play different mpegs until the battery died without incident, so I would call this bug squashed.  Thanks again for the excellent work!

Remember that whole mention of "sample videos" earlier? That still holds true.

I converted some flv's with WinFF and they still have no good synch they have a latency of between 1~4 seconds for the video, the sound plays nicely but the video is not syncronized with the sound,it has a latency of 1~4 sec,but is good to have this plugin, the mpg videos are less sized than MJPEG,for me is good,it needs to add synch between video and sound.

Why do the words "sample videos" just not sink in with you?

Everybody else does have synched videos.  You need to supply some SAMPLE VIDEOS so that a developer can test why only the videos you make don't work.

I don't know how to make it any simpler.  Either tell someone where they can download one of your videos that doesn't work, or stop moaning.

I have encoded about 13 videos with WinAvi converter and applied the required details to it and played them on my GigaBeat F40 and everyone worked perfectly, the only problems I have are the ones metioned in the known bugs, just typing this to say great work, its weird, when I start a video I expect it to be out of sync, but it never is,.

It works almost perfect on the Gigabeat F10 with the latest firmware!

Mine stays perfectly synced. However after about 5 min of playback it slows down, not noticable by just seeing the video but you can deffinately hear it in the audio. Video is 160x128 VBR 100-300kbs 23.9fps MPEG1 on Iriver H10 20GB.

All the music videos I downloaded to it work fine, but anything longer than about 5 min starts to slow down. Such as the movie I ripped as above. It plays fine on my PC.
