location of .rockbox.ipod file

Just a general query. I noticed that in the last few builds, the rockbox.ipod file is not placed along side the rockbox folder, but rather, inside of it. Is this the proper placement of it now, or should I drag it from there to the iPod root as it used to be done ?

the major changes changelog describes this change as "requiring an update to the latest bootloader".  this seemed to imply to me that some action was necessary on the user's part, aside from simply updating the directories (along with the rockbox.* file in its new location)... but I guess not, since I just did so on my iriver and it seems to work.  So is it really that simple?  Or may I have missed something that I'll only notice later?

The "latest" bootloader is over a year old for some targets, if it works without the rockbox.wahtever file in the root you're fine.

ya, i figured as much.  i'm just worried that without any further documentation on the matter, it may confuse new users (or those who just aren't around very often).

How would a new user be confused? The manual doesn't contain links to bad Bootloaders.
