Well, I downloaded rockbox, and then I uninstalled it because of my own reasons. Everything went fine after uninstall but i decided to try and find another skin. Well i extracted the skin to the ipod device location (F:). I thought if i just put that on there it would work. So i took my ipod out and now i get this when it boots up:
Rockbox boot loader
Version: 1.0
IPOD version: 0xFFFFFFFF
Partition 1: 0x0B 28521 MB
Loading Rockbox...
Error!
Can't load Rockbox.ipod!
File not found
Pres Menu+select to reboot
then select+play for disk mode
It wont plug back into the computer, and i dont have a clue how to get my ipod working again. Please help, PLEASE!

Do that.
You appear to still have the Rockbox bootloader installed. Run ipodpatcher again (the same way as you did when you installed Rockbox), and select "u" for uninstall.

I'm having exactly the same problem, except my iPod won't kick over into disk mode. It resets just fine, but disk mode's not working for me. I'm holding select+play.
Llorean:
You're not pressing Select+Play at the right time then, disk mode is permanently there, and nothing Rockbox does can remove/disable it.

Yep, I was too slow and it's back to normal. Thanks, mate.
So essentially that means there's no such thing as software that can ruin my iPod. Good to know.
