[h1x0] RWPS Bitmaps

(1/1)

ray:
i'm currently updating my RWPS for the iRiver H1x0 series and i am finding difficulty with the bitmaps.

on an old build of Rockbox dated late 2005, I would have my preloaded bitmaps (such as a Fast Forward push) load on top of text like Playlist Numbers to save visual space in my RWPS.  This worked out fine then, as the text would display when the bitmaps weren't loaded, and when the preloaded bitmaps were called to display, it would overlay on top of the text, essentially hiding it.

with the current builds, when the preloaded images are not even called to show, the text is hidden from view now.

i do not know what could be causing the problem as my bitmaps are monochromatic and in 1-bit depth like before.  is it a transparency issue or is it due to a change in how rockbox handles displaying bitmaps?

could somebody with h1x0 WPS experience or a dev tell me what i could do to overcome this problem?

thanks!

There already is a bug report regarding this in the tracker... http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/5937

Maybe you can try to get the developer's attention or so (would be kind if you could check yourself that it was this commit that broke it).

hi pixelma,

i didn't notice that there was a bug report in flyspray already.
i'm afraid i'm just a lowly artist and have no influence with the devs! hehe

i also have no programming experience other than introductory javascript, so i couldn't tell you if the commit you pointed out in flyspray was the one that broke the graphical rendering in the iRiver H1x0 RWPS.  but i think you're right!

hopefully a dev will pick this up and fix it!

i'm *this* close to releasing a new version of iAmp that supports new features like the Sleep timer and some of the new codecs, so once this bug is addressed it will be released!

thanks!
