Gigabeat F40: Lost backup of original firmware
michael.conner:
Due to a hard drive crash, I've lost my original GBSYSTEM folder with the Toshiba firmware. Might someone be kind enough to e-mail me a copy (my e-mail address is in my profile)?
Thanks in advance!
Llorean:
Do you actually have reason to boot the original Gigabeat firmware? I was under the impression it didn't have anything worth booting it up for, but haven't tried it personally so I don't really know.
michael.conner:
Yeah, actually, I'm thinking about selling it.
Nate!:
Why don't you do the person you sell it to a favor, and don't put the original firmware on it. ;D Leave Rockbox on. The person you sell it to will probably just end up loading Rockbox anyway.
Of course, this is just me being funny. You can call Toshiba and they will ship you a cd with v3.x and Gigabeat Room v3.x. That way you have the orginal media when selling it.
michael.conner:
Mine was a refurb unit -- it came with a CDR with the Gigabeat Room install software but no actual firmware on the disc.
