Circular Progressbar and disappearing volume

Would it be possible to create a circular progressbar?

Also, would it be possible to write a wps so that the volume graphic only shows up when the volume is changed, and then dissapears after 3 seconds or so?

Yes and yes, but only by modifying the source code. They are not supported features, although the default status bar does have that behaviour on the volume indicator.
