I found the how-to in GigabeatFXPort, on the wiki, and I could save my Gigabeat with RockBox, now it's booting. Thanks for the info, Chronon!

I had the same issue with my gigabeat F40.  For some stupid reason, I reformatted it in Windows XP and used NTFS Not I get system error  C00F6720.  I assume that there is no system software to make it boot.
I did this a long time ago, more than 10 years.  I have 3 of these and I would like to get this one working.
