Llorean is right though if you have those files in the correct spot there should be no problem.

If you format with windows, there is something missing on the hard drive so it can boot

I had this problem before and the only way was to reload an image from a working gigabeat.

You can try to reformat with the gigabeat format utility or perhaps make an update but I think it will still don't work

I can send you an image of a working gigabeat that you can load on it if you want
