sansa e2xx sound buffer?
« on: March 21, 2007, 08:59:35 AM »
This is just and only my option, if others have noticed when playing audio files (I only have mp3s at the moment) when scrolling through the menus, or scrolling the volume there is some lag.
That is until the songs play for awhile then the lag seems much less, even totally gone.

Does this mean the buffer has reached saturation?
If so shouldn't there be a "Buffering audio file" function at the beginning before play back starts to eliminate this lag?
Sure something like that would delay the playback at first, but we wouldn't have to wait 15 seconds after scrolling the volume down for it turn down when first playing music.

And i just wanted to give a great big 'WELL DONE & GOOD JOB' to everyone who help get audio playback working in the first place.  ;)

These issues are most likely due to the sansa port being in a very early stage and that the performance of various player specific parts of rockbox has not yet been optimized.

On many players (all the ones I'd recommend to people looking to buy a player at least,) the audio buffering is transparent. You know that it's happening by disk activity but it doesn't negatively affect your browsing.

it just get slow by browsing due to the disk activity and the processor work, when you browse some files you are using some cpu percent amount of it,when you scroll by some settings of the player you are using cpu processing and then the rockbox port for sansa e200 is early so is better to wait, another thing I want to add is "Thank's for sound on sansa great job"
