Installing RockBox with the IpodLinux loader 2.4 help???
dwalk51:
I currently use IpodLinux successfully and iBoy goes with it.
I launch iBoy, IPL, and Apple's firmware from my 5g 30 gig black iPod.
How do I add RockBox to that list?
Do I extract the files I got for the ipod Video to the root and then add something to the loader.cfg file?
If so, then what do I add?
Please help me, I jsut became interested in RockBox today, and from my experiences with iPL forums, the people there don't care about you.
Show them up!!!
thanks!
Llorean:
If your iPod has a fat32 partition (necessary for Rockbox to run), you should be able to just extract Rockbox.zip into it, and be done with it. Be aware that even slightly older versions of Loader2 can't load Rockbox properly, only the newest ones work with our dual core support.
dwalk51:
wait, but I have a loader.cfg file in my root so that I can can launch iBoy from Loader 2.4, what should I add to it so that RockBox works?
I think it should be something similar to:
RockBox @ (hd0) mnt/rockbox
I mean, I'm just confuzzled.
sooo...
I need to edit loader.cfg? What do I add?
thnx for the help
GodEater:
Despite the fact that we do NOT support Loader2 - it's nothing to do with our project, this forum contains numerous posts on how to do this. Just use the search function. I did - and found more than enough posts which contain the answer to this question.
dwalk51:
ummm...
what should I search for?
plz and thank you
