Fried H320 with reversed polarity
(1/1)
dodo2k5:
Dear Members,
As I have seen, some of the members fried their player with a charger that had reversed polarity setting or charged with a higher voltage than required.
As many people's player mine also started to show "Connected" and "Charging" messages, while it haven't connected to a charger or to my pc. I have tried many tricks that I have found there, but finally decided to give it to a service (didn't sent back to iRiver, because I have bought it years ago).
They have discovered, that an IC is broken, which data I haven't found on Rockbox' site. It's just above BDU 44W ZC9T, has 5 pins and the text "SV" on the top of it. As soon as they removed it, the player didn't showed unnecessarily "Connected" or "Charging" anymore, but it's only connecting to a pc if the charger is connected, either and there is no charging anymore through USB. I'm just searching the brand and type of that IC, because they claimed that they can't change it without this info.
So, any info appreciated about this IC.
Thanks in advance!

Hello,
Quite an old post, but i think the answer is :
The component is numbered U20 on the PCB. And on this H300 diagram U20 is a KIC7S32FU.
If somemone could double check,
Regards,
