upgraded h120 to 30gb now rockbox wont boot...

i just upgraded my h120 to 30 gigs mk3006gal and now rockbox doesnt boot it just freezes on the bootup screen, yes i loaded the files onto the drive. the original boots up and works but i cant get rockbox too. how can i fix this? i even downloaded a new build of the recording enhancment patch and that didnt help.

How did you format the drive you replaced the 20GB one with ?

i used partition magic 8, then i tried using windows to format by right clicking the drive and selecting format both resulted in rockbox not booting but the original still did. it was formatted to fat32.  i was going to use swissknife but it refuses to load, my comp gets an error...  the hardrive is not an apple branded one.

When you say "it was formatted to fat32", which drive are you talking about - the old one or the new one?

Parition Magic only creates partitions and marks what type they are - it doesn't format them.

I think you *need* Swiss Knife in order to format the drive properly.

You partitioned it *after* you'd formatted it? Did you format it again afterwards ?

yeah, ive tried a few different programs to reformat and its all leaving me stuck at the rockbox boot up screen.

You could try a linux live-cd (any will do as long as it include mkdosfs) which will allow you to properly format it as a FAT32 drive.

IIRC (it's been a very long time since I used it), firmware 1.65 has a format function.  Have you tried running that?
