disabling (new) main menu, possible?
(1/1)
mutejute:
is it possible to disable the main menu when you press left left left... i want the old way where the last screen is the root folder of the harddrive. although there is an option where the start screen is the files, still when you press left you get to the main menu.
what was the previous build where it still uses the old navigation/mainmenu? my dap is h140 btw.
bluebrother:
You can't disable the new main menu. Unfortunately you don't explain what exactly you want to achieve with "left left left" -- in the file browser you can _hold_ "left" and it will stop at the root folder. Another press of "left" takes you to the menu. This was added as conveniency (which I personally dislike). OTOH, the "menu" button toggles to the last view, i.e. if the last view was the file browser it will take you back to that.
mutejute:
sorry for not expressing myself well. what i want is the old style where the last screen is the root folder of the hard drive (file browser). I want the menu to be accessed by pressing the A-B button (just like the old version) and not by pressing left again (which you also dislike) when in root folder.
bluebrother:
You can access the main menu by pressing a-b even from the root folder. You don't *need* to use "left", but you can. Slight but for some an effective difference. The initial main menu didn't had this shortcut but most users want it (and unfortunately not too much voted against it, so it got added).
You can of course simply remove the key binding that backs out from the browser to the menu. Which of course requires creating a build of your own ... (but, while I dislike the backing out from the tree views to the menu, I simply just use the menu button, so it's not a big deal for me)
