"One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it."

I just installed rockbox on my sansa e270 successfully.  When I try to add songs or what not (In my case a theme) it does not show up in My Computer and it errors on my computer.  The screen on the Sansa shows that it has a USB connection however.  Any suggestions?

Llorean:
Are you in Rockbox? Rockbow will show a USB icon because it can detect the USB cable plugged in, but has no USB support.

You need to be in the original firmware.

Ah easy enough.  Thanks.

Edil:
Is this way of operation temporary and will change eventually?

I like the way I can connect the iRiver h-140 with rockbox to the computer and I wish to see the same feature when using the sansa. My cousin bought the sansa e260 and I installed rockbox as soon as I got it in my hands. He really likes it.

nls:
For rockbox to support USB on the sansa, ipods and a few other players a full blown USB stack has to be implemented in software, this is a lot of work and will take a long time to do if it ever gets done. On iriver h100/h300, gigabeat old archoses, iaudio x5/m5 the usb is handeled by a hardware chip and rockbox just detects the connection and hands over control to the chip.
