Copying rating from MediaMonkey
« on: March 16, 2007, 06:09:13 PM »
I use MediaMonkey to organise my music on my laptop and synchronise it to Rockbox on my MP3 player.

I would like to display the MediaMonkey rating in the while-playing-screen on Rockbox.
I
How can I get the ratings from the MediaMonkey database in to Rockbox, given that they aren't held in a tag in the files, but in database fields?

I am not a coder, so any scripting required would have to be really basic.

Thanks for reading this and thanks in advance for any helpful suggestions.

You can't. Unless you program a converter from MediaMonkey to Tagcache (read: Database format).

My understanding, at least for OGG, is that MediaMonkey *does* write the rating tag into the file. In fact if you open a short music file in Notepad, you can even see the tag there.

I think it might be some kind of private tag though as I've never found any other program that recognises it.
