Datasheet? i have no clue how i would obtain a datasheet of this chip. I would be delighted to do so, if you could tell me how i may make or receive one, ill be happy to provide.

You can't, really. Broadcom would have to provide it, and they don't like to share. The main point was: It can't be done unless someone figures out how to talk with that specialized chip. Ipod Videos are likely to, for a long time, have the worst video experience in Rockbox.

You could probably start by improving a/v sync and adding a "seek" option. Pesonally, i like the way ipods can seek through video (step by step or by long durations determined by the scrollwheel). I also have a question:

Would the video run more smoothly if it were using a chip in the player, versus the portalplayer processor?
