Nano 2nd gen

Even though it says that it wont work on the 2nd gen nano, does it? My friend says that it should still work but i dont want to risk anything because my ipod is cool  ;)

Although it's *impossible* to brick you ipod with rockbox, there's no sense in trying it: It's only a waste of time.

lol.. dont install rockbox on ur ipod nano 2g.. i tried that but rockbox made my ipod write protected so i cant do anything to it anymore.. i guess i can donate it to rockbox people to take it apart and look and stuff like that and look at the processor and screw with it. cuz my ipod is fu**ed up.

You can always download a Nano simulator from here and see what it does so that you are ready when it does work...

Even if that wouldn't be all. The hardware is completely different, so the nano 2G is basically a new port. And, it's not write-protect, it's encrypted.

Just run the ITunes software (if you have it installed) and then use the reset feature.

This will reset to factory fresh so make sure you backup your music if you don't have it copied elsewhere!!
