Can't insert files into playlist

(1/1)

Znirk:
I use rockbox on iaudio x5. I recently updated rockbox after a longish pause (previous version was from early January 07, just after the new MPEG player but before the latest menu reshuffle).

With the new version (today's Daily, r12756-070314) I can no longer insert single files into a playlist the way I used to.

I use the file browser to navigate to file "a.ogg" in directory "A" and select it. Result: as with the old version, a dynamic playlist containing all the files in directory "A", with file "a.ogg" playing.

Then I select another whole directory "B" (not a file inside it), raise the playlist menu and choose any of the "Insert" options. Result: same as it ever was, a dynamic playlist containing the files from directories "A" and "B".

Here's the difference: When I go to another individual file (call it "c.ogg" in directory "C") and Insert that, it isn't inserted. Instead, the old playlist is erased and I get a new dynamic playlist containing only the files from directory "C", with "c.ogg" playing.

Is this a bug in rockbox or in the user who missed an interface change? ;)

frause:
Hmm... On my Iriver H160 Navi (center) inserts the file.
Right pops up a "Erase dynamic playlist" (I have "Ask before erasing" set to on). Now I can say no to that and the file will be inserted. If I say yes it makes a playlist of the whole directory.

I believe this is a bug and I will look around in flyspray and file a bug report if I don't find anything.

Are you using an official build?  In the official build, right and Navi do the same thing in the file browser.

frause:
It happens in the Playlist submenu. FS 6829

Edit:
And yes, I'm using an official current build. r12765 to be specific.

Znirk:
Thanks for checking, and noticing the workaround.
