Iriver H300 makes weird whirring sound instead of playing music
(1/1)
blinkblink:
it just started happening the other day. My iriver with rockbox has been working fine for almost a year now, then just the other day it stoped playing music. ALL other functionality remains the same, its just that when you try to play a song, all your hear through headphones is a weird kind of whirring...it sounds kinda like the motor of a car in a really old school 80s car racing video game.
both the lineout and the headphone input give the same result.
Please help me out...my iriver is my life :(
I've tried putting the newest build of rockbox on and its installed fine, but the problem still exists..

Maybe your headphone jack is broken? Have you tried using the line out connector and hooking it up to some active speakers?

I think "both the lineout and the headphone input give the same result." means that he has tried it. ;)

Sounds rather similar to my situation. Everything seems to work except the audio output. I get no output at all on the right channel and a very low, digitally distorted output on the left channel. amiconn (and several others) diagnosed this as likely to be a blown UDA1380TT, so I'm now hunting for a replacement chip - anyone out there got a spare bagful..? ;)
