Ipod 5.5 scroll wheel issue

Your bootloader version should display immediately after the Apple logo. If it doesn't (There's no text between the Apple logo and the Rockbox logo) then you're using the latest one.

It seems it is.  I have heard of a scroll wheel being messed up before, but I guess this is something that would definately happen to me  ::) .  Anyways I reset the iPod, and it is working for now.

However I do see text inbetween apple and rockbox screens, a whole lot of system info I cant read fast enough to copy or even get a good glimpse.

That means you have an outdated bootloader. Follow section 2.2.2 of the manual. It's labelled installation but it works the same for updating.
