BTW, in the case of needing the alternate boot for use with the dock, how about if the bootloader only defaulted to Apple if the dock was sensed? (If that's possible).
I'd like the same thing to happen, having Apple OS as default.. But looks like its never going to get official so guess i'll have to make it myself like u guys said in here, but can anybody tell where there's a tut on the internet so that i can learn how to do this?

If you boot AppleOS you'll need to *reset* the Ipod to go back to Rockbox. Turning off the player (as it's no actual power-down but a sleep mode) won't go back to Rockbox. Which makes it completely unneccessary to boot AppleOS as default -- once you're using AppleOS you explicitly need to reboot.
Well I'm going to have to dig into the ipod mini firmware anyway to build myself a version that supports use of a CF module instead of the disk drive. While I'm reading source code maybe I'll take a look at the bootloader source.I'm guessing I just need to look for where the hold switch is sampled and then invert things. Might also be nice to post a message on the screen to let the user know to "throw hold switch now to boot rockbox". Probably won't get to this until the weekend, and I'm waiting for another CF card to upgrade my other mini anyway.BTW, in the case of needing the alternate boot for use with the dock, how about if the bootloader only defaulted to Apple if the dock was sensed?
