Um, what do you think  ;D  Rockbox is amazing.

I do think that the result of this poll will depend very much on the player people own - on the H1x0 and gigabeat (the targets I own), it is very stable (especially on the H1x0) and completely replaces and more the OF.  However, for iPods etc where the odd lockup and battery life issue still exist, I suspect people will have a slightly lower love.

We all ought to remember though that unless you own an Archos we are all testers - rockbox hasn't been released for a software codec target yet.

Hi:

  Rockbox is amazing! It allows the user to load music in a folder structure of their liking, without converting to some proprietary format, generates play lists on the fly and will play tracks in order. Most people I know with other players just play their music in random order as it's so cumbersome to create play lists.

  I have a Toshiba Gigabeat F40 and just bought one on Ebay for my wife. The fact that Rockbox continues to evolve with more and more features is icing on the cake. I never would have wanted to use the Gigabeat with Toshiba firmware but Rockbox rocks.

Without Rockbox, my iPod would be sitting on my desk, unused.  Rockbox + Linux Desktop = Love.

I would not have even thought about getting a Gigabeat until Rockbox came along for it, to be quite honest.

Same here. I specifically bought the ipod nano to install rockbox on it. And it was most definately worth it!  8-)

Yes.  I find the OF on the H1x0 completely unuseable now (and I never liked it at the time - the seemingly interminable wait for rockbox to get sound on swcodec was awful!), and have never used the OF on the gigabeat, but by all accounts it is even worse.

if rockbox will support full (& and easy to use) music library management like

* Add tracks easily to new / existing playlists
* Remove tracks easily from existing playlists
* Move tracks / playlists
* Move tracks in playlists
* Easily rename tracks / playlists
* Create playlists
* Support folder structures in Playlist folder

IT IS THE BEST THING IN THE WORLD THAT IS EVEN FREE!

Sadly, there is still an "If" at the beginning of the sentence. See also http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=9298.0

I'm new to Rockbox but from what I have been able to understand and execute with it, it is an amazing program.  Definately a lot better than the original Apple OS and since IpodLinux is "screwy" on the 5.5G, it is most definately better than that as well.

Keep up the good work to the developing team and thanks for the free releases of the program.  I hope that as you continue to grow, you continue to stay free at the same time ;)

The whole reason that i switched to this was to get rid of itunes on my computer and allow me to play FLAC files on the go.  rockbox had done this all for me as well as looking really kick ass and having some amazing features. i am just getting the eq adjusted for me e3c's, but other then that i'm f*in blown away.  i'm using this on my nano and there is only a current build rite now, but as far as what i have seen i haven't ran into any bugs yet......
rockbox is the bomb.....lovin it
