mkamsboot file will not open for sansa fuze v.2

I'm going through the instructions for the sansa fuse v2 and the mkamsboot exe file will not open, even if run as administrator. I'm using a thinkpad with x64 windows on windows 10 pro.

All I really want to do is be able to run a 256gb sandisk extreme sd card for more music. I also have a sansa e250 rhapsody, but that seems harder to install rockbox.

Any advice / help?

What message do you get when you try to run it?

None, nothing popped up.

If you're clicking on it then that's not going to work. It's a command line program so you need to run from the command line.

Fwiw you realize there is a GUI installer that you can click to use right? The command prompt is only if you want to use the command prompt for some reason.

The mount point is the drive letter of the fuze you want to install to.

What is the "drive letter" ? I've never done this before.

So you have no idea what’s command prompt but completely ignore it and say that you follow the instruction… Just try to google how to open command prompt in Windows.

I know how to open it but not how to run the exe file

Windows represents storage devices using drive letters. You can check your fize by clicking on the computer icon on your desktop. Then you can tell the installer to install to that device.

If it "doesn't know the mountpoint" none has been assigned to your player. On Windows that's the same as the drive letter. Unless you fix this first using the command line won't succeed either. And once you have that fixed you don't need manual installation anymore.

Switch the player to MTP mode, then it gets a mountpoint assigned.

Also, please don't simply "fix" an issue by going a different, harder route before understanding why things failed.

I used the MSC mode instead, and a drive letter was assigned- the automatic installation worked!

I'm also trying to run a 256gb micro SD card, let me know where I should look to get that working.
