Messed Up iPod

Hey guys, im hoping you can help me with the problem im having.
I installed rockbox on my 60gb video today. I followed all the instructions, put the folders, and files in the right place, but when i dissconnected it. I just get the apple logo, but it never boots up. And when i switch it to hold, i get this error message

Can't load rockbox.ipod:
file not found
Press MENU+SELECT to reboot
then SELECT+PLAY for disk mode
Hold switch on!

I tryed holding menu + Select, it restarts the ipod, but i just get the apple logo, it never loads. And holding select + play does nothing. When i plug my ipod into my computer, my computer doesnt read that its there, but it still charges. If someone can please tell me what to do, that would be great. I hope my ipod isnt fucked for ever now :'(

Hold Menu+Select, THEN Select+Play as soon as the screen clears.

Then, once in disk mode, follow section 2.2.2 of the manual carefully. You either missed this section, or did not perform the steps as written.
