That's your problem then. Rockbox expects files to be tagged with the tagging format considered part of their standard. In the case of MP3 this is either ID3v1 or ID3v2. Your extremely non-standard tagging format is likely the reason Rockbox is unable to read your files properly for playback.

Non-standard, I have just ripped the cds using windows media player. So what should the tags be then?

ID3v1 or ID3v2 as I said. Frankly I'm astonished if Windows Media Player allows you to put WMA tags on MP3 files.
Are you sure the files are actually MP3s? Not just WMA files with an MP3 extension?
