Right click on the drive, choose properties, click the Tools tab, and it's the first one, above defragment.

thank you. i ran it and it found no errors. im in the process of restoring my ipod and reinstalling the rockbox software.

the battery is charging currently. the reinstall seemed to work fine. thanks again.
