Decoding errors with Nano?
« on: March 07, 2007, 04:15:59 PM »
I'm having some trouble using Rockbox on my Nano right now:
- MP3 files have audible beeps
- Vorbis files skips some frames
- Musepack skips to the next track randomly

Although it is not ALL the time, after some minutes of playback I'm getting this behaviour, after like 20-30 minutes it starts and doesn't return to its normal even after a restart. Usually the next day it is going to be fine and then after some minutes it starts again. That's how I became aware of the problem, since I'm listening to music while coming home.

Those symptoms indicates decoding errors, I think. Maybe some corrupted data going on somewhere, but on Apple OS I have no problems at all (besides not being gapless and not being able to play MPC or OGG :P) so I think it is a Rockbox issue. Some builds ago I didn't have this problem, maybe some change on the playback system caused this, but I have no idea when this really began, it could be days, weeks or months...

I have made some logf dumps I could upload if it is helpful. If it is not, is there a way to help me debug it better?

Thanks!

Which revision is your bootloader, and your build?

Now I'm using the Loader 2.5d6, but the official with black background had this problem too. I can install it again if it's needed.

I try to have the most updated build always, so the one I had this problem today is from yesterday (2007/03/06)
