OGG decoding performance on Nano

Well, i was about to convert a couple of CD's i got, to OGG format, to test if it's quality is better than the MP3 format.
And I realized, that I may get some trouble playing this files on my Rockboxed iPod.

Are there any quality flaws, or low performance of the overall Nano system?
Maybe I'm not explaining myself too well, for example, ¿Am I going to have crashes, or quicker battery drains, if i use this format?

Bonus question: ¿Should i do this, i mean, start using OGG instead of MP3?

Ogg generally requires a bit more CPU to decode, so the battery can drain a little faster. Other than that, I'm not aware of any significant problems - at least if you use "reasonable" quality settings, like no more than 6 or perhaps 7. If you go higher, Rockbox might not be able to decode it fast enough to keep up (higher bit-rate files are slower to decode).

I rip all my CDs to ogg vorbis (aoTuV tuned) -q4.  The sound quality is excellent (in my opinion), and the smaller files let me hold more music on my Nano!

Ogg is one of the faster lossy formats on the Ipods.  You shouldn't have any trouble with it.

Farpenoodle:
It's actually faster than the MP3 decoder.

I recently made a battery life comparison of the four major codecs that you can use. (Well MPC isn't exactly major but it's what I use sooo.)
