general info about rock box

here are some of my questions

1. will rockbox screw up my ipod
2. is it easy to install
3. how fast does it drain the battery
4. does it get rid of my original firmware
5. does it have a video player

please answer the questions because i want rockbox but im not sure of what the bad things about it are

1 - No.
2 - Install Instructions from the Wiki. OR Our excellent manual.
3 - Our wiki is excellent.
4 - No.
5 - The MpegPlayer Plugin is in early developement.
6 - iPod-specific wiki starting point  (Note:  Most Rockbox features/issues are NOT model-specific.
7 - Don't want to read the manual on-line?  I don't blame you.  Download it here.  Unlike many other open-source projects, the manual is good.
