sporadic, random playback freezes on Gigabeat

Well, without any more information than "It just randomly freezes" it's pretty much impossible to track down the bug.

I am having a similar problem. Only my gigabeat wont play my music at all. I open the music file, and then it stops.

And what build are you running? Which bootloader version do you have?

I am using the current build and the boot and I am using FWING01.DAT. Also- When I try to boot to the origional Tosheba program for the F20, it says: "woops, should not return from firmware!"
And I know this is getting a little off topic, but what exactly does "Rescue Mode" Do, and Can it help me?

I had it just happen again with an 81k VBR mp3 track.  2nd track in a 14 track playlist (started as folder-based playback), total size of playlist 22MB. I took the player outside and looked at the LCD in the sunlight -- there is definitely no error message displayed, it's just frozen.

Am using r12710-070310, clean install (deleted my previous .rockbox folder and rockbox.gigabeat), only settings are replaygain on, repeat off, fade on stop/pause off.

Should I continue making notes of when/how this happens and/or file a bug report?  I know that there's not a lot that can be done without specific error messages.

I did get some of these hangs during early development, but haven't gotten them for a while. You could try updating your bootloader (if it's not the most current) as rockbox can behave strange when it's out of sync.

Don't you mean 18 Jan 2007 - 12:26? That is the bootloader.zip file. Please correct me if I am wrong.

The zip file is dated 18 Jan 2007 - 12:26, but the actual FWIMG01.DAT file inside it is dated 17 Jan 2:57pm.

Using the new bootloader posted at download.rockbox.org and the most recent SVN build, it seems to be all good. (knocks on wood) Thanks for the advice!

EDIT: spoke too soon -- crashed on me this morning.   The usual behavior -- crash, no error message.
