Songs wont play

Alright, I put rockbox on my 5G 30GB ipod video, it installed fine, and the databse is working, but when I go to play a song, it does practically nothing. It DOES switch over to the "now playing" type of screen, but there is no sound (yes I checked the volume) and the song timer doesn't move forward at all. Could anybody help?

What type of file are you trying to play?  MP3, ogg vorbis, AAC?

Does the same thing happen for all files, or just for certain files?

All my music files are MP3, and I tested it with a few different artists/songs. So thats pretty much as far as I got with it. I know I'm using the latest build, so it cant be an old build issue. Everything else seems to work fine except for that though.
