1 - Please follow the forum posting guidelines you agreed to when you signed up.  No fake words like "dun" "tan" tat".
2 - I have no idea what player you own.
3 - Based upon what little info you have given me (How did you rip the MP3s?  What player are you using?  How have you otherwise verified the condition of said MP3s?  Have you actually tried playing the songs normally? (see manual))  I have little in the way of help to offer, though my gut instinct is you have some random junk songs downloaded from some backwater of the internet which have had their extension changed to .mp3, but which actually aren't.
I could be totally off-base - but we need more information to make a proper diagnosis.

blackrainbow:
umm shur... i mean sure. ty for replying anyways

okay i have the ipod 5g and i restored it before downloading rockbox (so theres no songs inside).
afterwards i placed songs in the .rockbox folder (regular mp3 songs that you would download from morpheus/limewire). the songs appear on the ipod but the "data aborted" comes up immediately once you try to play it.

Febs:
When you turn on your ipod, does your initial screen display dark text on a light background, or light text on a dark background?

Also, what build are you using?

Invictus:
I'm having the same issue, maybe I can bring a little light into the subject.

All I have on my Rockbox are mp3s, so I can't tell if it does this with other filetypes.
All the music on my Rockbox played fine in previous releases.

When I play a song, it plays about 1 second in, then I get the error "Data abort at 0002EA50", then it quickly changes to "Data abort at 4000139C".  The Theme background stays intact, if that helps, but all other information disappears except the error itself.

I am using a 2Gig Ipod Nano (you know, the old two-toned ipod with a color screen), I'm using the lastest Rockbox release to date.

Any ideas?
