H360 hangs

My H340 with a 60gb hdd has started to hang after playing for various lengths of time. The only way to get it working again is to reset it. No hard drive noise when hung. It always hangs at the very start of a song. It is using r12540-070301 but this problem started with a previous version from about 2 months ago. It hangs with either shuffle on or off but never with the iriver firmware.
It always hangs within 30 mins on a fully charged battery and can then hang at various times the rest of the day.
