« on: March 04, 2007, 10:15:02 PM »
After awhile, my ipod automatically goes back into it's original state.. (apple software)  I have to go through all the commands of installing rockbox again... is it suppost to do this?

As far as I know, the only way to remove the bootloader is to:

1)  Format the ipod, or restore it in iTunes
2)  Install an iPod update from Apple
3)  Run the install procedure.

Have you done any of these?

Do you have the hold switch on when you start the ipod?  That will boot into the iPod firmware.  If that's what has happened, you should be able to get back into Rockbox by rebooting the iPod.  Do this by pressing and holding the Menu and Select buttons simultaneously.
