The manual covers what to do with them. The instructions are in section 2.2.2

No, they do not belong in your root. If they're there, you did it wrong.

After downloading the Rockbox package connect your player to the computer via USB as described in the manual that came with your player. Take the file that you downloaded above, and extract its contents to your player’s drive.

Use the “Extract all” command of your unzip program to extract the files in the .zip file onto your player. Note that the entire contents of the .zip file should be extracted directly to the root of your player’s drive. Do not try to create a separate directory or folder on your player for the Rockbox files! The .zip file already contains the internal directory structure that Rockbox needs

1 donwload zip lates build -done
2 extract zip in root -done
3 i have toons of files in my root couz in zip they where there

where i got it wrong ?

2) Extract zip TO root.

If you do this properly, it preserves the directory structure of the zip. Inside the zip, all the files, except one, are in folders. If you extract it properly, you get one file (rockbox.ipod) and one folder (.rockbox) in your root, and all the files and folders you saw are inside the .rockbox folder.

See the column labelled "path" that you have so narrow? It shows just .r and elipses to let you know there's more. If you expand that you'll see the path (read: file structure) that you're so incredibly certain isn't there that you had to post a screenshot that proves my point instead.

Yes, and I told you that means you're extracting them improperly. Either you have changed a setting and need to restore it, or you need to change a setting, to make sure that winzip preserves the path.

Instead of trying to figure out what was going wrong on your end, you decided instead you needed to post a picture to prove that the path wasn't in the archive, which it was.

Look, try using 7-zip (google it) and extracting with that. It's clear that either your winzip is broken, or you've got it configured improperly.

Or, actually do what I told you, and check for a setting in winzip, rather than just trying random things and seeing if they work. I don't even know what 'did it manually' means to you.

Because by pressing on the Rockbox file (which is the Rockbox firmware itself), you are executing the "Rockbox Loader."  Is there any particular reason you are trying to do that?

Also, please edit the title of your thread to something meaningful and descriptive, as required by our posting guidelines.

Please, do not use things like "nvm" in our forums. Our guidelines require the use of real words, and you agreed during signup to read our guidelines and follow them.

There is no reason to click the Rockbox icon, and the instructions do not say to. RoLo does not function perfectly yet, and is not needed for everyday use.

I'm not sure I understand why you've even come here for help, since what you do always seems to be different from the suggestion you get when you ask for help...
