Nano issue: Endless reboot when USB connected

(1/1)

madsic:
I left my iPod playing until the battery went dead last night and now when I plug it in using the USB cable, I get an endless reboot (just as the don't-unplug-icon appears, it starts all over again). Searching, I found a somewhat similar description but this was apparently related to some sort of tinkering/using an unauthorized recharging device. All I did was leave it until it switched off by itself - something I've rarely if ever done before. I've tried holding down the menu switch in order to charge without connecting but the same thing happens. Help?

EDIT: I have succeeded in getting it to stop the loop (though no idea why). I connected with the hold switch on which made it go 'cleared' every time it rebooted, removed the hold switch in mid-boot and then it booted in normal connected status.

GodEater:
Hard reset it, and then start it in disk mode.

Then leave it plugged in for a couple of hours to charge.

See here : http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=8205.0 for instructions on how to do the reset, and how to get it into disk mode.

Thanks GodEater, I guess I stumbled upon the same solution by accident :)
