iPod cannot boot!

Hey guys,

I recently went through trying to install rockbox into my 5.5G and for some reason, all I did was place an unzipped folder (the extracted rockbox folder) into my ipod's drive and now, it won't boot... I keep getting a black screen with some rockbox text about error -1 and after that it jus reboots and appears with that error again... When I plug it into my PC it won't work... It just continues to try and boot itself again... What should I do? I can't even get iTunes to restore it... nor will it even detect...

I get 'rockbox error: -1'

It keeps trying to 'load original firmware' but all what happens is that it reboots again... Is there a fix for this?

Please help, thank you.

soap:
A) You need to place both the .rockbox folder, and the rockbox.ipod file in the root of your player.
B) If you are getting Error -1 you are not using the current bootloader, where did you get yours?

Llorean:
C) See the sticky at the top of this forum for how to get into Disk Mode so you can finish the install properly.

That did it! Thanks :)

I'm not 100% understanding the root of my iPod. Can you clarify that for me?

soap:
Root directory is your "bottom" directory.
C:\       is the root of C:
C:\Music\       would be one folder up from the root.
etc.
