mezmerize1:
ok, i installed rockbox on my 60gb ipod video and i cant get my music to play. at first it had options for artists, albums, etc, etc, and when i clicked on them it would say "Database is not ready". then someone told me to go to the database options and click on initialize database. i did that, and now i do not have the options to play music at all. could anyone help me out here?? and how do i boot the original ipod fw in case i wanted to use that sometimes and rockbox sometimes?
Llorean:
Please first reference the manual, as is required by our forum posting guidelines. It should be able to help you with the questions you've asked.

ive done that stuff it says to do in the manual but when i try to see my files, it just goes back to the view file options and doesnt show my songs. i have about 4000 songs and a couple of movies if thats what is taking it so long but i did the initialize thing when i woke up this morning.
Llorean:
If it says "Database not ready" then you didn't allow the initialization to finish, or you didn't shut down and turn it back on afterward. Or the initialization may have failed.
mezmerize1:
so should i reinstall rockbox or just try initializing it again?
