New bootloader in SVN
« on: February 28, 2007, 04:58:17 PM »
Has anyone (besides Linus  ;)) installed the new H100/H300 bootloader? Can anyone post a checksum for the new version?

I've compiled it and patched an original H300 1.29K firmware, and it looks right, but I'm worried about the dire warnings about what might happen to my player if it isn't. But I'm very keen to see if bootloader USB mode will now work for me.

Or should I take the plunge, and post my checksum if it works? Someone's got to be first...

Why not wait until we post an official binary to use?

Is bootloader USB mode even worth the remotest risk of bricking a player? Is patience so costly?

No, I agree with you that the risk is too high. I'm very happy to wait. Thanks for the advice.

If anyone more reckless than me tries it, though, I'd like to hear about it.

I believe there are currently some charging problems with the SVN bootloader version anyway. Basically, with the H100 and H300, it's always best to wait for an official version.
