ipod nano-trouble in cmd w/ ipodpatcher

i am at the part of installing when im in the cmd and i type in the code ipodpatcher --scan and its says ' ipodpatcher' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. WHAT DO I DO?

Follow the instructions properly. In your command prompt, you're not in the same folder as IpodPatcher.

the songs will not appear on my ipod

If you've copied them with iTunes, it hides and renames the song files. See the portion of the manual on the database feature.
