Often they aren't located in the United States. Copyright Law in the US allows you specifically to make a backup, not acquire one from elsewhere. The wording is interpreted very strictly.
And with the DMCA, even that limited right to creating a backup is further restricted in the case of anything DRMed because at the moment it's illegal to circumvent said DRM even for creating a backup.
Regardless, we take copyright very seriously, as we as programmers and other creative persons here have copyrights of our own that we would like to be respected. Sites that redistribute copyright material without the author's given consent are not to be discussed here. Whether you think it's right or not, these are the forum rules.

Also there are several places where you can buy something called doom collectors edition.... I don't remenber the game but it contains all the doom wads...... and if there are other sites where I can obtain the wads for free legally it would be nice too. Quake won't be bad either. This will not get you anywhere here...
The forum guidelines require that you search for answers before asking and there have been many, many topics on Doom wads.
If you want to know what roms work, just try them, but AFAIK all gb roms will work and some gbc.
Any more posts like those above without asking for help for a specific problem and this thread will be locked.
