program x-fade in playlist?
« on: February 25, 2007, 09:10:02 PM »
Is it possible to program x-fade options in a playlist?

For example Playlist 1 is
a continuous mix techno album
with no x-fade.

Playlist 2 is a mix of pop songs
with x-fade.

Clicking on the Playlist 1
automatically sets no x-fade.

Clicking on the Playlist 2
automatically sets x-fade.

Thanks in advance.

No, that type of functionality is not currently possible in Rockbox.

I too think this would be a great feature, but a request already exists:

You could always just have an x-fade.cfg and a no-x-fade.cfg and click it immediately before clicking the new playlist.

Or... just set "Enable Crossfade" to "Shuffle" only.

Situation 1 = Listening to normal album or "continuous mix album" requiring the tracks to be played in their original specific order... turn "shuffle off" through quickmenu. Songs will not be crossfaded and will be played in original order.

Situation 2 = Listening to a random playlist, pop mix or just album not in order. Enable "Shuffle" in quickmenu and all tracks will be crossfaded and shuffled.

... or am I just stating the obvious?
